What We Do
We plan, design and build websites. We deal with projects ranging from large ecommerce sites to small brochure sites.
The web is a constantly changing entity, the developments in the field over the next few years will affect your digital property. We ensure you're ahead of the curve.
StrategyReview, research and planning. Creating an effective digital strategy for the project.
ImplementationDesign, development and deployment. Building according to modern conventions and standards.
OptimisationTesting, analytics and continual improvement. Our recipe for maintaining value in digital property.
A project will begin with an expert review of the clients current digital assets. We assess how it compares to current best practice and advise on improvements that can be made.
Qualitative analysis of current and planned assets are made against competitors to select an suitable project strategy.
We want to fully understand what our prospective clients want to achieve from their web projects. Through stakeholder interviews and user studies we gain insight into the real objectives of their digital assets and their organisations. We're aiming to paint a picture of what a successful website will achieve for the client, measurable against success criteria and KPIs.
There are many options for taking a project forward, it is in ours and our client's best interests to choose the most suitable course of action based on our reviews and research.
Common project goals range between a redesign and rebuild of all digital assets to small changes to the current website.
Once a clear plan has been agreed on we start an iterative process of design and development. We work in small steps, involving the client at every stage, to evolve a complete solution to the project. This approach aims to avoid any potentially disastrous 'big reveals' by catching issues early.
a 'low-fi' skeletal framework of pages used to define the position of important elements on the site
used to reach a consensus of design style for the project, something that is often tricky to put into words
static design ideals, used to test combination of wireframe and design using both high and low fi methods
the start of the functional site, allows interactive testing before the bulk of the build is done
When designing for print, such as a brochure or a catalogue, the designer has full control over the medium in which the design is displayed to the user i.e. the printed page.
This concept does not exist on the web. Not only do screen sizes vary from small phones through to large office desktops the way users interact with websites is different depending on device and situation.
We translate a design into a working site in small steps while testing on a wide range of devices.
Software and Development
If possible we select and implement your site using readily available open source software, for example the WordPress content management system which is popular among small websites and blogs.
Sometimes it may not be suitable to use off-the-shelf or open source software to run your website. We can construct and develop custom solutions tailored to your use case.
Managing every aspect of putting a site live is not something we expect our clients to deal with. Lots of small jobs have to come together for a successful launch and the process can be complicated by having to replace or update an existing site.
We have coming up to ten years of experience with dealing with live websites and offer a variety of levels of service dealing with yours.
If required we offer managed hosting for our clients. This completes the end to end solution we offer.
The web continuously evolves. Your users needs change. Your website needs to keep up. We help our clients continually improve their digital assets.
An integral part of the design process, testing is performed before and after going live. Use of various tools allow us to test the effectiveness of single and multivariate designs.
Use of real data collected from use of your website is invaluable, but the sheer quantity of data is often overwhelming. We find real insight in the numbers.
Acting on what we have gathered we can improve what you already have. When building new we construct systems to facilitate future changes to lower maintenance costs.
